Open Monday at Clublokaal

It is almost August again. While many spend their summer holidays elsewhere, Clublokaal prepares for the summer school that starts later this month. The sudden pruning of two trees next to the building still has effects, and the controversy surrounding the closure of (un(h)armed) continues as well. The move outdoors — beyond the thick, white walls of the exhibition space — has caused friction and raised questions about the relationship between art, public space, and the people who engage with it.

In the meantime, the garden gradually signals the transition to a new season: the first apples from the remaining trees are falling to the ground. A lovely opportunity to pause together and reflect on this shared place. Whose is the garden actually? Who feels welcome there, and who perhaps does not? What dreams, memories, and fears are connected to this piece of communal ground? And how can this space be used and shaped together in the future?

Following this, there will be a delicious vegan meal prepared by Veronique, with a surprise dessert.
