One to One: John & Yoko met Cultural Cafe Breda

Every first Tuesday of the month, Filmhuis Botanique Breda and Cultural Café Breda (CCB) organise a special film evening under the name Film+. On Tuesday 4th November, the documentary One to One: John & Yoko will be screened, an intimate portrait of John Lennon and Yoko Ono during one of their most influential periods.

The film will be introduced by Maarten van den Berg and will be followed by a friendly aftertalk. In the early 1970s, the iconic duo settled into an apartment in Greenwich Village, New York. They became deeply involved with American television and current affairs, from Vietnam reporting to popular shows like The Price is Right. At the same time, they searched for Ono’s lost daughter Kyoko and underwent a personal and artistic transformation.

An TV item about the Willowbrook State School, an institution for children with intellectual disabilities, eventually prompted the historic One to One benefit concert at Madison Square Garden. An evening full of music, activism, and film history
