The Polish band Omasta draws inspiration from street and jazz culture. They combine jazz with hip-hop and do so with a driven rhythm section, supplemented with piano, trumpet, and saxophone. After their debut in Kraków, Omasta was allowed to open for the American hip-hop group Slum Village. Since then, they have performed on various stages at festivals and clubs.<br><br>
Earlier, they created a special tribute to the iconic hip-hop producer J Dilla for Dilla Month, but they are now doing this for the great producer Madlib. The band adopts Madlib's iconic beats into their own raw, jazz-infused sound. Omasta is also working on their debut album ‘Jazz Report from the Hood’, which will be released this autumn.
