The Aa or Weerijs is a stream that originates in Belgium and flows out into the Singel of Breda. In 2005, this valley was redesigned to prevent flooding in the city.&nbsp;The river now meanders and the bed has been widened. The Trippelenberg has long been a populated area. In the Middle Ages, the Castle ‘Ten Houte’ was located here, approximately at the site of the current Prinsenhoef.&nbsp;Previously, the Breda Hippique took place here.
