Nieuwe Veste: MuziekSalon Spronk ‘De Ingewijden’

Literature & Music is a collaboration between the library and MuziekSalon Spronk 

About ‘The Initiates’, a novel by Hella Haasse 
Six people of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds come into contact with each other during their stay in Greece. From the American girl Jessica Manning to the ex-Nazi Helmuth Sturm, all strive to become who they essentially are. For each of them, the thread of their life is intertwined with that of another, until it is ultimately no longer possible to see each person's fate separately from what happens to and inspires the others. 
The main characters are all searching for initiation, for knowing the secret of life. 

The novel ‘The Hidden Spring’ from 1950 and ‘The Initiates’ from 1957 by Hella Haasse are linked. The same characters try to unravel a dark past.
