Modern Ancient Forest Tribe in Chassé Theater

Inspired by Dré Wapenaar's Boomtents, Steens creates a magical in-between world filled with rituals, shadow play, and imagination. Together with children and collaborating artists, he constructs a new fictional tribe that exists between the pillars of the theatre.

During your visit to the exhibition, you will be fully immersed in the world of this tribe through the light artwork that projects a shadow play onto the tents and the environment of the Chassé. The exhibition is open from Friday 18 July to Thursday 21 August. On various days, Bas Steens will be present and working. You can find the exhibition on the Entresol, halfway up the large red staircase in Theatre Street.

For children, workshops are available within the framework of this project, including making flags, masks, and costumes.
