About Miles Davis 
In the midst of a prolific career at the top of modern jazz, the musician Miles Davis disappears from the public eye. Drugs and pain medication have silenced his musical voice. Then suddenly, journalist Dave enters his life. 

The story takes place in New York in 1979, when Davis (Don Cheadle) wanted to revive his career after a five-year hiatus. He works together with a reporter (Ewan McGregor) from the American music magazine Rolling Stone. Also featured are the turbulent years with the love of his life, Frances Taylor (Emayatzy Corinealdi).

This Dutch trumpet player introduces this film about Miles Davis. On May 15th (8.30 PM, Hotel Nassau stage), Varekamp, together with MILES 100 and Eric Vloeimans, pays tribute to this jazz icon.
