Tom’s Place is the blues & roots duo of Tom Verhoeven (vocals and harmonica, from Baarle-Hertog) and Pieter Place (guitar, from Tilburg). Both share a deep passion for roots blues and find each other effortlessly. After years of experience in various bands in the Netherlands and Belgium, they combined forces in 2018 under the name Tom’s Place. This does not go unnoticed: they immediately reach the finals of the Belgium Blues Challenge and receive glowing reviews. 

Tom’s Place stands out for their pure quality. Tom’s seasoned voice takes you back to the origins of the blues, while Pieter switches effortlessly between warm, raw, smooth, and sharp guitar playing. 

Technique and emotion come together in a sound that is both powerful and refined. Their music is rooted in delta, Chicago, country, and hill country blues. All these styles blend into a unique, recognizable sound: electric, with a raw edge and great attention to detail. Within the songs, tempo, atmosphere, and melody constantly alternate, keeping each performance captivating from start to finish. 

Alongside strong original numbers such as Searchin’ and Got To Leave, they also perform works by lesser-known blues and roots artists from the past, always played with passion and conviction. Classics and crowd favorites are given their own twist, like Steady by Jerry McCain.
