Lievense Live: JPK Band

In 2000, singer-guitarist Jan Pieter Kuijten formed his own band. It became a three-piece band with a strong repertoire of its own, inspired by authentic Rhythm & Blues and Blues Rock. They quickly conquered stages and the hearts of visitors at numerous festivals and music cafés at home and abroad. 

In May 2002, their first CD, Knife and Gun, was released, featuring eight original songs. Since then, their repertoire has expanded significantly, even quintupling, resulting in a second CD, “Driving my car”, a third CD, “Bamboozle”, each with 11 original songs, and a fourth in the making. Their performances are full of passion and energy, interactive with the audience and always ending in one big party. 

With bassist Patrick Frijters and drummer Jan Keuter, Jan Pieter Kuijten forms a unique blues rock trio with an unmistakable sound of their own. In addition to their own work, they also perform many songs by their blues rock heroes Jimi Hendrix, Steven Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher, Roy Buchanan, ZZ Top and Ten Years After, topped with their own JPK sauce.
