Lievense Live: Beauty & the Beasts

Beauty and Beasts is a musical project around the young multi-instrumentalist Sem Vos (13). Despite her age, Sem possesses a remarkably mature musical style. As like-minded peers are rare, she is initially supported by two experienced musicians: drummer and singer Johan van der Aarsen (known from Two Doors and Desert Flowers) and her father Mike Vos (Exile, Kiss Alive ’75), who, in addition to his role as accompanist, also takes on most of the vocals.

The repertoire consists of hard, intense grunge from the ’90s, complemented by influences from earlier decades such as The Stooges and Pixies, with ventures into later alternative rock.
