Liberation Fire Relay Breda Wageningen
In Breda, the liberation is celebrated and we reflect on the regained Freedom. This is partly achieved by a group of runners participating in the National Liberation Fire Relay.
At midnight, the Liberation Fire is ignited in Wageningen. Runners carry the fire to their hometowns.
Information
In Breda, the mayor will ignite the large Breda Freedom Fire at the Chassé Theater.
The programme is as follows:
- 4:00 PM: Doors open with live music
- 4:45 PM: The Liberation Fire arrives in the square in front of the Chassé Theater.
- 4:50 PM: The ceremony, with the mayor, of lighting the Breda fire.
- 5:00 PM: Representatives of the Freedom Meals receive the fire and set off.
- 5:10 PM: The 'Trzech Braci' perform Polish folk songs. They consist of the three brothers Jos, Hubert, and Willem Koniuszek.
- 5:30-8:00 PM: Freedom Meals commence (Chassé Theater is fully booked). By bringing the liberation fire to all celebrations, all participants are connected through this fire in a large National Liberation Festival.
