On Wednesday evening 19 November 2025 at 7:30 PM, art historian Mirjam Gouweloos will give a presentation about the life and work of the famous painter Caravaggio. Through an engaging PowerPoint lecture, she will highlight his revolutionary painting style, which focuses on drama and the play of light and dark.
Mirjam Gouweloos (1962) has conducted extensive research in Italy and regularly leads tours in cities such as Florence, Rome, and Umbria. Caravaggio is considered one of the most talented artists in art history. His works, such as The Crucifixion of Peter, continue to leave a profound impression to this day. His exhibitions attract large audiences worldwide, and the churches in Rome where his paintings are hung are also heavily visited.
