Kunst voor Klimaat
Information
This winter, Het Gele Huis in Princenhage transforms into a place where art, nature, and human activity come together. Under the title Art for Climate (Kunst voor Klimaat), the house presents a diverse exhibition and a cultural programme in December and January that invites visitors to explore, feel, and reflect on what grows between humans and the earth.
Twenty artists participate in this special project, each with their own discipline and perspective on sustainability, interconnectedness, and human influence on our environment. Their works collectively form a living landscape of ideas and materials. Paintings, objects, installations, films, and textile works intersect around themes such as growth, impermanence, and transformation.
Participating artists:
Jan van IJken, Gerry Peene, Judy Hooijmeyer, Ad Marijnissen, Ad Evers, Janny Reijnders, Frank Nüsselein, Ada Krowinkel, Lidy Meier, Karin van Noort, Rik van Holten, Lucienne Smit, Anja Barendrecht, Anneke Hendrikx, José Jonkers, Roeland Hoefsloot, Vonne Janssen, Maurice Spapens, and Peter Heavens.
Cultural programme
In addition to the exhibition, Het Gele Huis offers a rich and varied fringe programme, including music, film, cabaret, lectures, workshops, and museum visits. This programme is made possible through the efforts of many volunteers from the working groups.
Art for Climate is therefore not only an exhibition but also an invitation to encounter, raise awareness, and marvel – about the fragility and resilience of all living things.
The official opening takes place on Sunday 7 December and will be performed by the alderman for Climate, Energy, and Sustainability, Peter Bakker.
