Kooracademie Breda brings Passion Music to the Maczek Memorial
Information
The program focuses on stillness, reflection, and musical depth. The men's ensemble of the Choir Academy presents a selection of passion music from the Renaissance, a period when composers used clear polyphony and expressive melodic lines to powerfully convey the Passion story. The transparent sound of the ensemble allows this centuries-old music to speak anew in a contemporary context.
The musical direction is led by conductor Antoine de Thouars, who carefully and dedicatedly prepared the men's ensemble for this concert.
Youth Choir
The concert is also performed by the Youth Choir of the Choir Academy, comprising slightly older children. They will sing some pieces and add a fresh, clear sound to the program. The combination of male voices and young singing voices creates an emotional and colorful whole.
The concert at the Maczek Memorial promises a warm and meaningful morning, where music and commemoration meet in a special way. Everyone is very welcome to attend this musical celebration of Passiontide.
Admission is free. After the concert, a collection will be held to support the choir.
