Of course! The Breda Month of History is starting
October is just around the corner, bringing autumn with it, the perfect time to celebrate the Breda Month of History together. This year’s programme is themed "Natuurlijk!", where nature and history come together in surprising ways.

Kick-off on Saturday 4 October at 14:00 in Nieuwe Veste
The Month of History opens with an inspiring selection from the rich programme. Expect a diverse afternoon filled with talks, poetry, dance, and visual arts, all in keeping with the theme. Special guest Auke-Florian Hiemstra (biologist), presenter, and researcher at Naturalis, will take you into the wondrous world of humans, animals, and nature. From plastic swan nests to beaver scratches: he will show you nature in Breda through new eyes.

Together outdoors
After the programme, you will walk past various partner locations in the city centre of Breda, where nature and heritage meet.

Cheers to an inspiring month
At 16:00, you will cap off the afternoon festively at Chassé Botanique, where you will raise a glass to a month full of discovery and wonder.

A green and active edition
With this kick-off, the Breda Month of History takes on a fresh, green perspective. In collaboration with dozens of cultural and heritage partners, we will this year highlight not only the history but also the development of nature over the centuries.
