Julian Marley is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Lucy Pounder from Barbados. Growing up in a musical environment, he developed into a versatile musician in his own unique way.
During his youth in Jamaica, Julian Marley was influenced by prominent figures in the reggae world and released his debut album ‘Lion in the Morning’ in 1996. This was followed by collaborations with, among others, Lauryn Hill and performances worldwide with his band The Uprising.
His third album ‘Awake’ was nominated for a Grammy and awarded at the International Reggae and World Music Awards. Julian is a committed Rastafarian, and his music, like that of his father, remains rooted in spirituality, consciousness, and a global message.
