J. Bernardt in MEZZ

J. Bernardt is the solo project of Jinte Deprez, one of the members of the Belgian indie rock band Balthazar. He creates a mix of contemporary R&B, electronics, and soul. Together with Adriaan Van de Velde (Pomrad) and Klaas De Somer (Tourist Le Mc, Pomrad), he captivates the audience with their immersive music. 

Compared to Balthazar, the guitars are less prominent in the foreground, and the vocals and strings draw more attention. The music embodies the atmosphere of a nightclub after closing time. Recently, his new single ‘Four In The Morning’ was released. In it, Jinte sings about someone who, in a slightly dazed state, reaches a moment of clarity at four o'clock in the morning. Or perhaps it was simply a rare sober moment, which he intentionally leaves open to interpretation. 

The upbeat, moody pop song feels like a trance: manic and captivating, driven by pulsating drums, expansive synths, and seductive vocals. It is his first new release since 2024. The song marks a new phase in which J.Bernardt evolves into a fully-fledged own world with a unique path and ambition.
