IVN Sensory Walk at the Wolfslaar Estate

During this walk, the eyes get a rest and the other senses are stimulated. This creates an intense connection with nature. The guides are experienced in guiding people with a visual impairment, making the activity accessible for them as well.

Information

In nature, attention usually first goes to what can be seen. But what happens when the eyes remain closed? Sounds, smells, touch, and even taste tell a very different story about the environment. The rustling of leaves, the scent of damp earth, the texture of tree bark or the ground beneath your feet… all these impressions create a new way of experiencing.

About the area
The Wolfslaar estate, owned by the municipality of Breda since 1955, provides the setting for this outing. This versatile nature reserve offers a rich variety of landscapes and atmospheres. Surrounding the monumental manor is an idyllic garden with water features. Frogs feel at home in the ponds, while the Bavelse Leij winds through the park and seeks its way through herb-rich grassland to the Bieberg and the Mark. The area connects to the Ulvenhoutse Voorbos, which is accessible via a small bridge.
