IVN poetry walk on the Anneville estate

The walk with the IVN guides starts at 13:30 and lasts until 15:00–15:30.

The theme of this afternoon is: poetry and nature.

Anneville Estate has a rich history. Queen Juliana later described her time at Anneville (when she was still a princess) as “a fairytale time”. It was here that the royal family learned that the Netherlands had been liberated from the German occupiers. Local residents then gathered to celebrate freedom with Queen Wilhelmina, Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard. Anneville is one of the many country estates south of Breda.

The estate was founded in the 19th century by Prosper Cuypers and named after his wife, Anne van Velthoven. The country house and park are still owned by his family.

About the walk
During the walk, participants will walk across the estate and through the hamlet of Geersbroek. Along the way, attention will be paid to the history of the area, but above all to nature. All kinds of plants grow and bloom along the avenues and paths. At various points, poems that suit the surroundings will be recited.

The walk offers visitors a peaceful way to enjoy nature, history and poetry.

Registration for the walk is required and is possible up to and including the day of the walk. A separate registration form must be completed for each person.
