IVN Nature Walk Vrachelse Heide

Saturday, 7th of February, you will go on an exploration of the Vrachelse Heide with the nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge. Along winding paths, heather fields, and drifting sand, you will hear the story of a landscape shaped centuries ago by humans and nature.

You will learn how sheep, heather, and sand are intricately connected, and how intensive use of the area ultimately led to open drifting sands and dune formation. What once was a vast heather landscape is now a diverse nature reserve with forest, heather, and ‘living’ sand plains that are still in motion.
