The Old Buisse Heide is located near Zundert and Achtmaal. The writer Henriëtte Roland Holst spent many summers here. She and her husband, visual artist Rik Roland Horst, welcomed numerous other artists here. "A lovely place, peaceful and idyllic", is how she described this estate with old forests and beautiful avenues, heathland, ponds, but also fields and meadows. It is a nature-rich area with many deer, birds, dragonflies and other insects. A thatched tea pavilion and a poetry walk serve as reminders of her presence.In 1945, Henriëtte Roland Holst donated the estate to Natuurmonumenten. As part of nature restoration, the ponds have been cleared and the overgrown heathland has been stripped. In this way, this nature-rich landscape is preserved for the future.Come and walk along to experience the serene atmosphere of this old cultural landscape. Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive information about the departure location. The walk starts at 13:30 and lasts for one and a half to two hours.

On Sunday 28th July, the nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge will walk through the estate of Oude Buisse Heide where nature and culture meet.
