On Saturday 25 October, the nature guides of IVN Mark &amp; Donge will celebrate darkness with a special evening walk for adults and children. Because who still remembers how it feels to experience true darkness? In the Netherlands, cities, roads, and buildings are brightly lit in the evening. This may give a sense of safety but also causes light pollution and energy waste. Meanwhile, humans and animals actually need the dark to relax.That is why the Nature and Environmental Federations are organising the 21st edition of the Night of the Night this year. Under the motto ‘lights out, senses on’, events are organised in the dark all across the country. Hundreds of companies and municipalities turn off their outdoor lighting that evening. IVN Mark &amp; Donge is also taking part.Together with Boerderij Wolfslaar, IVN Dintel- en Marklanden, and Kiemkracht Drimmelen, the nature guides invite you on a festive walk through Landgoed Wolfslaar in Breda. In small groups, you will pass various stations where experts will show, tell, or let you experience what makes the night so special. This year's programme has been revamped, so even returning participants can discover something new.Let your senses be stimulated: do you hear a rustling sound? Do you see something moving? Will it be thrilling or enchanting? One thing is certain: it will be a special experience for young and old. Children are very welcome, provided they are accompanied by at least one adult.Before and after the walk, you can visit the information stand of IVN. There will also be enthusiastic hedgehog protectors on hand to tell you all about this quintessential nocturnal animal.
