IVN Nature Walk Krabbebossen

The nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge walk through a former estate that forms a green corridor with adjacent natural areas.

Information

The Krabbebossen lie nestled between motorways and railways, but are very important as a link in the Brabant Nature Network. The former estate connects various nature reserves with each other. Animals can move safely from one area to another.

Work is ongoing to improve connections with surrounding nature areas such as Vloeiweide, Pannenhoef, Liesbos, and Mastbos. For example, in 2017, thanks to the Landinrichting Weerijs Zuid plan, a 40-hectare agricultural area on the east side of the river Aa or Weerijs was acquired by the Brabant Nature Trust. It has been designed with ponds and woodlands with elms and coppiced willows and blends beautifully with the small-landscape surrounding the estate. On both sides of the Aa or Weerijs, the landscape is full of variation. Forests and meadows, fens and spring water, it's all there. Add to that differences in height and soil composition, and it’s clear this is a rich area for plants and birds. Registration is possible until the day of the walk.

After registering, you will receive information about the departure point. The registration form can be found on the IVN Mark & Donge website under Activities.
