Information

About the Chaamse Forests
The Chaamse Forests have changed significantly over the past years. Where the area used to become drier, much effort has now been made by Staatsbosbeheer to restore nature. Fens have reappeared, the water level has been raised, and the landscape has become greener and more varied.

About the walk
During this landscape walk, participants will discover the most beautiful spots of the area. The route passes, among others, the Ossengoor, a drowned forest, the historic Geuzenpad, the recreation lake ’t Zand, the Alphense Bergen, and the special Putven.

The walk is intended for solid walkers. The route is about 20 kilometers long and takes around 6 hours. The pace is faster than ordinary walks, but enjoying nature and scenery is central.

Bring enough food and drinks, and it is also wise to take rainwear and waterproof shoes. The Chaamse Forests are often wet and marshy.

Anyone who loves nature, variety, and a good hike should not miss this walk.

Registering for the walk is mandatory and can be done up to the day of the walk. A separate registration form must be filled out for each person. After registration, participants will receive information about the departure point.
