IVN information booth at Rijen ruikt in Rijen

Rijen Ruikt is a cultural event where individuals in the municipality of Gilze en Rijen open their gardens for viewing. The theme of this 24th edition is "enjoying scents and colours". A route has been mapped out that you can walk or cycle along, but you can also create your own route. 

You can visit numerous gardens and sometimes also enjoy something extra such as art or music. This year, Noodopvang Hedgehog Haven is also participating. 

About Hedgehog Haven
Hedgehog Haven often appears as part of our information stall during certain walks and events to provide information about hedgehogs. At Hedgehog Haven, there are five hedgehog gardens for hedgehogs that need rehabilitation or need to get used to outdoor life. They can also hibernate safely there, after which they are released in spring. Individuals can bring hedgehogs that need care. 

Hedgehog Haven provides first aid before transferring the hedgehogs to Stichting Egelopvang Roosendaal e.o. Hedgehogs that cannot yet return to the wild after treatment are kept in outdoor enclosures at Hedgehog Haven. During Rijen Ruikt, you will find not only the hedgehog gardens but also staff from Stichting Egelopvang Roosendaal e.o. There will also be a stand from De Groene Keuken in Rijen.

 The senses can definitely also be stimulated at the information stall of IVN. There, you can see, feel, and smell everything that can be found in nature. There are nature guides present who can tell you all about plants and animals. There is also plenty to experience for children! 

The stand and hedgehog care station can be found at Wilhelminastraat 42, 5121 WT Rijen. The day starts at 10:00 AM and lasts until 5:00 PM.
