IVN End-of-year Plant Hunt

On Sunday, 28 December, IVN Mark & Donge will go on a winter plant hunt during the national Year-End Plant Hunt.

Information

On Sunday, 28 December, the nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge will set out again for their annual search for flowering plants in winter. This year as well, they will join the nationwide End-of-year Plant Hunt, organised by Floron (Floristic Research Netherlands).

More and more plant enthusiasts go out in winter to record flowering species. Surprisingly, there are often quite a few still.

Usually, these are plants that normally bloom in late summer and autumn and prolong their flowering in mild temperatures. Additionally, some species can bloom all year round, such as the daisies. This ‘May flower’ is a perennial bloom champion and perhaps deserves the name ‘winter daisy’ in December.

After a warm, dry summer and a cool, wet spring, we are curious which species will be visible this winter.

The inventory takes place at: the grass embankment near Bavel.

  • Start time: 13:30
  • End time: around 15:30
  • Registration: possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive details about the meeting point.
