The prince is accompanied in a long procession to the Grote Markt for de sleuteloverdracht. This entry symbolizes the arrival of Prince Maurits during the recapture of Breda from the Spanish. After Kiske and Mieske have informed Prince Maurits about the trick with the Turf Ship, he has entered the city through the Haagsche gate with his entire retinue. In memory and in honour of this, the entry once again start from the Haagdijk. With a large entourage, Prince Driekus d’n Tweejde will enter the city. This entourage is formed by all the Kielegatters. The entry starts at café de Haagse Poort.

De intocht and de sleuteloverdracht traditionally mark the start of Carnival in Breda on Saturday afternoon!
