Hannes Minnaar plays Bach

Master Organist Hannes Minnaar and The Netherlands Bach Consort let Bach's Organ Mass resonate with 10 newly performed haikus.

Information

Hannes Minnaar, the Dutch Bach Consort, composition students from the ArtEZ Conservatory, and poet Jan-Jaap Stegeman meet around Bach's greatest organ work, the Dritter Teil der Klavierübung.

The timeless music of Bach's chorales inspired poet Jan-Jaap Stegeman to write ten haikus. These haikus were further set to music by ArtEZ composition students from Canada, Curaçao, Egypt, Iran, and the Netherlands. Drawing from their cultural backgrounds, they give new musical life to Bach's legacy, performed by the Dutch Bach Consort.

Tradition and innovation embrace each other in this concert featuring Bach's unparalleled organ music in all its facets: profound, tranquil, overwhelming, and above all, genius. The concert takes place in the Grote Kerk, between the centuries-old choir stalls and close to the stage.

There is a limited number of seats in the choir, which must also accommodate the nine performers in total.
