Information

At the Filmhuis Botanique Breda, you will spend an evening with a full programme centred around the work of Jean-Luc Godard, one of the most influential voices in film history. On the occasion of the release of the new 4K restoration of 'À Bout de Souffle', this iconic film will be screened, followed by 'Nouvelle Vague', Richard Linklater's latest film about the origins of Godard's debut.

Film journalist Hugo Emmerzael will introduce the evening. He will discuss Godard's approach: how he broke with classical film grammar, edited to the rhythm of his thoughts, blended fiction and reality, and used his films as a reflection on cinema itself. For Godard, film was not just a medium to tell stories, but also to ask questions — about images, time, language, and truth.
