Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols

Glen Matlock, known as the original bassist and songwriter of the Sex Pistols, takes you on a musical journey through his versatile career in the MEZZ.

Information

Glen Matlock is a dedicated musician through and through. He gained worldwide fame as the original bassist and co-songwriter of the iconic punk band Sex Pistols. On the legendary album Never Mind The Bollocks, he contributed to no fewer than ten of the twelve tracks. In 1977, he left the band amidst much controversy, but his musical journey was far from over.

Matlock played with numerous bands and grandeses, including The Rich Kids, Dead Men Walking, and Mick Jones (The Clash). He toured with none other than Iggy Pop and Blondie. During this show, he takes you on a musical flight through his impressive career.

In 1996, he released his first solo album: Who’s He Think He Is When He’s At Home. Although the album was well received, its success was overshadowed by the reunion tours of the Sex Pistols. In 2018, the acclaimed Good To Go followed – a stripped-down, almost rockabilly-like record featuring contributions from guitarist Earl Slick (David Bowie/John Lennon) and drummer Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats). The track Keep On Pushing was even declared the “Best Song In The Universe Ever” on Little Steven’s Underground Garage radio show.

In 2022, Matlock signed a worldwide solo record deal with Cooking Vinyl. A year later, Consequences Coming, his most current and politically charged solo album to date, was released.
