Gilde De Baronie: Nature Walk Strijbeekse Heide

Since 2005, Staatsbosbeheer has been carrying out restoration work in the area. Coniferous trees are being felled, and the rich topsoil / humus layer is being removed. 

There are cattle and sheep grazing to keep the area open. This allows the heather to recover. Several types of heather can be found here, and the guide is happy to point them out. The heather should, hopefully, be in full bloom.
