Filmhuis x NKV presents the film: Caravaggio

Soon you will see Caravaggio (1986) at Filmhuis Breda, with an introduction beforehand by the Dutch Classical Association about art and classical themes.

Information

On Thursday 6th November, Filmhuis Breda presents the visually stunning and daring biographical film Caravaggio (1986), the impressive debut of Tilda Swinton directed by Derek Jarman. This artistic classic about the life of the famous Italian painter won the Grand Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival and is regarded as a milestone within queer cinema and experimental film history.

Before the screening, the Netherlands Classical Association (NKV) will provide an introduction on Caravaggio’s influence on European painting and the surprising connections with art from Ancient Greece.
