Exhibition: Wat ons Verleidt

In today’s hectic world, temptation lurks everywhere. We live in a constant stream of stimuli, choices, and expectations. Through our own bubble (and especially via the media), the world intrudes upon us. Everything seems accessible and possible: do, share, choose, or buy. Images and sounds follow each other at a rapid pace, often unconsciously shaping our ambitions and desires. 

What often seduces us turns out to be compelling, superficial, or false. But what if temptation and desire are genuine? What if they stem from inner curiosity, nurturing, and dreams? For artists, what entices can become irresistible: a driving force for the creative process and the search for meaning and realization. 

In this exhibition, Marjon van Tongeren and Frits Peeters show how they deal with temptation – either explicitly or subtly. Their work touches on choices, the good and the beautiful, and the tension between surrender and resistance. The art invites you to slow down, reflect, and imagine.
