The exhibition Space Mission takes you on a journey into the universe. Don’t expect black holes, but rather colourful and organic contemporary art. Hubert Leyendeckers, Bo Stokkermans and Tramaine de Senna explore the realm of the possible. In a dazzling way, the artists bring together material, colour, and form. Hubert Leyendeckers
The artist Hubert Leyendeckers from Breda (Weert, 1935 – Breda, 2023) was a versatile creator. He painted, drew, welded, and worked with wood, steel, and concrete. He created an extensive oeuvre centred around the cosmos. A selection of his drawings can be seen in Space Mission. Through this, he practiced his intuition and imaginative power daily. Some drawings were the foundation for large round paintings, three of which are on display upon entering the museum. His drawings demonstrate how imagination can depict the unimaginable. 

Bo Stokkermans
Artist Bo Stokkermans (Tilburg, 1995) trained at the St. Joost School of Art &amp; Design in Breda. He does not work from specific themes but, like Leyendeckers, creates unimaginable worlds. In 2024, Stokkermans received the stipend for young artists from Stichting KLEIO. This is a wonderful accolade for his work and development. We will hear much more from him.

Tramaine de Senna
Tramaine de Senna (San Francisco, 1981) also studied in Breda. She creates her impressive sculptures from her studio in Antwerp. She draws inspiration from consumption and pop culture, from pompous inflated objects to refined souvenir kitsch. Immediately upon entering, one of her works can be admired temporarily in our foyer.
