In the summer of 2024, the Belgian indie folk band Douglas Firs released their fifth album 'HAPPY PT.2'. Following the critically acclaimed grief album 'Heart of a Mother', frontman Gertjan Van Hellemont sings with heart and humour about finding new happiness after intense sorrow, without letting go of that sadness. His love for American roots music and indie folk is clearly audible.

Occasionally, Douglas Firs performs in a smaller trio setting, creating an intimate atmosphere where the music remains small and honest, with a focus on three-part harmonies. Gertjan is accompanied by his brother Sem and the voice of Roos Denayer, also known from her solo project Rosa Butsi. Expect an evening full of melancholy and emotion.
