Customs in MEZZ

Customs started as a group of four musicians who had honed their skills in the thriving punk/hardcore scene. They immediately won the very first 'vi.be on air', the precursor to De Nieuwe Lichting, and thereafter things moved quickly for the band. Their song 'Rex' became a hit, reached the top of De Eindafrekening, and was nominated for the MIA 'Hit Of The Year'. The debut album 'Enter The Characters' achieved gold status, and Customs played on the main stage at Rock Werchter. On the subsequent albums, 'The Market' and 'Magik', Customs showed themselves as a band seeking new possibilities and curious about other sounds, moving away from the post-punk that had made them famous. As a result of the new sounds, Customs withdrew, later seen as a kind of burnout. After a period of silence, they regrouped under the radar. Now they are back with two new singles and the promise to release new music every month. Customs is returning to their DIY punk roots and are redefining what post-punk is.
