Culture is not Industry: Lecture by Justin O'Connor

What happens to art and culture when they are only seen as an economic sector and are under pressure to make a profit? And what can we do to put art back at the centre of our society? On Tuesday 9 September, the internationally renowned cultural researcher and author Justin O’Connor will come to Clublokaal.  He will talk about his book Culture is not an Industry (2024) and offer his perspective on these questions. 

After the lecture, there will be a panel discussion with local respondents about what his vision means for the place of art and culture in Breda.
