Dutch pianist Wolfert Brederode has been one of the most distinctive voices on the European music scene for decades. He graduated cum laude from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and has released several acclaimed albums on the prestigious ECM Records label, including Currents, Post Scriptum, and Black Ice.
His most recent album, Ruins and Remains, won the Edison Jazz Prize. Brederode has collaborated with international artists such as Susanne Abbuehl, Yuri Honing, and Arve Henriksen and regularly performs across Europe. Opposite him is Latvian guitarist Ella Zirina, who, after studying in Amsterdam, quickly broke through with the highest distinction as one of the most promising voices of her generation. Her debut album, Intertwined, was nominated for the Edison, and her latest works, Boundless Blue and Sunset Hue, confirm her exceptional talent.
She has performed on major stages, including North Sea Jazz. Together, Brederode and Zirina create an sensitive and spontaneous dialogue between piano and guitar.
