Classical concert around the French song

Sang Mee (soprano), Dietske Lehembre (alto), and Peter Verelst (piano) present a concert program at the Walloon Church focusing on the French song.

On Saturday, 30th May, soprano Sang Mee, alto Dietske Lehembre, and pianist Peter Verelst will give a concert at the Waalse Kerk in Breda, featuring a programme centered around the French song.

In an hour of music, works by Fauré, Debussy, Hahn, Chausson, and Paladilhe will be performed. Songs about love, stillness, and longing, alternated with piano music, layered and intimate.

Sang Mee studied violin and singing at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp and has participated in various ensembles and choirs, including Collegium Musicum Amsterdam, Brabant Koor, and Musa. She is also active with her own ensemble Merulae.

Dietske Lehembre took singing lessons with Jan van Elsacker and Noëlle Schepens. She has been involved with various ensembles such as Capella di voce, Polyfoon, Reflection, and Merulae. She is a classical musician and combines her teaching duties with the role of pedagogical advisor.

Peter Verelst studied piano with Jozef De Beenhouwer and Vitaly Samoshko and is active as a chamber musician. He forms a duo with violinist Fedra Coppens and is part of the Clara Schumann Piano Trio. In addition to his musical activities, he works as an anesthetist and is studying musicology at KU Leuven.
