In theatre, spoken word, hip-hop dance, visuals and movement, Class 3-E shapes the ‘Real Man’ – with all prejudices and assumptions – in a new, autonomous way. After the performance, there will be an aftertalk in the Brasserie. 

Join Class 3-E, the Utrecht-Amersfoort dance crew where five unique dancers share a love for art and hip-hop culture, but no longer differ from each other in interdisciplinary skills, looks and masculinity. After performances in Trojan Wars by the National Opera and Ballet and the dance film Legends of the Roof, the crew now takes you on a journey through the complex world of male identity. What if you struggled to meet the stereotype? In this humorous dance performance, it sometimes grates and creates a safe space to be who you are.

Echte Mannen is a multidisciplinary theatre show with a powerful statement on masculinity in modern society. Especially now in times of 'cancel culture' and 'calling out'. Although cancel culture has existed for decades and perhaps centuries. Thanks to social media, it is more visible than ever today.

Echte Mannen is about the ‘multiplicity’ and ‘diversity’ of men. It refers to the urgency of the performance, namely that there are many different types of men and that there is no single definition of masculinity.
