About the film
Bugonia is the latest film by the multi-award-winning director and Oscar winner Yorgos Lanthimos, who, with this film, delves into the paranoid mind of conspiracy theorists. Obsessed with conspiracy theories, two young men kidnap the influential CEO of a large company. They are convinced he is an alien planning to destroy the Earth. What follows is a hallucinatory mix of psychological thriller, black comedy, and existential horror, entirely in the disorienting style that characterises Lanthimos so well.
