Café Lievense: JPK Bluesband

Live at Lievense: the JPK Band, a renowned blues rock band that plays both original songs and covers of blues rock legends, all served with a hearty JPK twist.

Information

In 2000, singer-songwriter Jan Pieter Kuijten formed his own band. It became a three-piece with a strong personal repertoire, inspired by authentic Rhythm & Blues and Bluesrock. At a rapid pace, they conquered stages both domestically and abroad, winning the hearts of audiences at numerous festivals and music cafes.

In May 2002, their debut CD 'Knife and Gun' was released, featuring eight original tracks. Since then, their own repertoire has grown significantly, even quintupling, resulting in a second CD 'Driving my car,' a third CD 'Bamboozle' with eleven original songs each, and a fourth in the making. Their performances are full of passion and energy, interactive with the audience, and always ending in a big celebration.

With bassist Patrick Frijters and drummer Jan Keuter, Jan Pieter Kuijten forms a unique Bluesrock trio with an unmistakable own sound. Besides their own work, they also perform many songs by their bluesrock heroes Jimi Hendrix, Steven Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher, Roy Buchanan, ZZ Top, and Ten Years After, all enriched with their own JPK sauce.
