In 2002, Spirited Away won the prestigious Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, a significant international accolade that put the film on the map. 

The following year, Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpiece was honoured with the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, the first non-English-language film to receive this prestigious award.
