BuitenBios Botanique - Life of Pi

Imagine this: a lovely summer evening, a good glass in your hand, soft grass beneath your feet, and a beautiful film on a big screen as the stars appear above you.

Information

Welcome to BuitenBios Botanique, the open-air film evenings in the heart of Breda!

About the film
Life of Pi tells the story of Piscine Patel, a sixteen-year-old Indian boy, whose father owns a zoo in India. When the family decides to leave the country, the entire zoo is loaded onto the ship. However, the ship sinks, and the only survivors on the lifeboat are Pi, a hyena, a zebra with a broken leg, an orangutan, and a 200-kilo tiger.

The film is based on the internationally acclaimed novel Life of Pi by Yann Martel, which was awarded the prestigious Booker Prize in 2002 and has sold millions of copies worldwide. The film adaptation by Ang Lee was also a huge success and received eleven Oscar nominations. Ultimately, Life of Pi won four Academy Awards, including Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Original Score.

Thanks to the combination of philosophical depth, breathtaking images, and a universal story about faith, hope, and survival, both the book and the film have become modern classics. When you have your ticket scanned at our Filmcafé, you will receive a pair of headphones.

New: order a drinks box directly with your ticket and enjoy a delicious selection of snacks during the film.
