Brede Talentontwikkeling

Through activities alongside regular education, children and young people discover their talents, broaden their horizons and increase their opportunities. By taking a talent-focused approach, they learn about their own qualities and develop the confidence to build on them. A successful approach requires strong collaboration between schools and partners in the neighbourhood and beyond. Pioneers, academics, role models, young people and community partners explore together what works, share success factors and tackle the challenges in practice.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Equal Opportunities Alliance (GKA). To mark this anniversary, the municipality of Breda, the GKA, the Breda Ontdekt! Coalition and the Partnership for Equal Opportunities & Citizenship Education (SKB) are organising the event 10 years of GKA Breda: Brede Talentontwikkeling on 3 November. During the day, they will bring together professionals from education, government, community organisations and research to explore how they can further strengthen equal opportunities and broad talent development. The plenary programme includes the presentation of an essay collection by Inge Vossenaar, Director-General for Primary and Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, and a keynote speech by Wolf Brinkman. Following a joint programme, participants will actively tackle current issues relating to broad talent development during a hackathon. By bringing together different perspectives, they will develop concrete ideas, solutions and next steps that contribute to equal opportunities for children and young people.
