Boaz Roelevink in MEZZ
Information
Boaz Roelevink was born in the Frisian town of Franeker, but at a young age moved with his family to South Africa. Music was always present in the household, which is how he discovered his love for country, blues, and soul at an early age. Among the vineyards surrounding the house, young Boaz often sang together with his father.
At the age of 13, now back in the Netherlands, he picked up a guitar for the first time – and thus began his musical journey. In 2020, Boaz reached the final of the SBS6 talent show We Want More, after which he decided to dedicate his life entirely to music. He started writing his own songs and developed his talent as a songwriter in collaboration with experienced musicians such as Maurice van Hoek and Mercy John.
This led to the promising debut album Keep It Simple: eleven heartfelt guitar songs rooted in American roots music, in which Boaz reflects on life lessons and experiences. Since the release of this album, things have been moving quickly: he has been featured on various radio stations, participated in Popronde, appeared on Matthijs Gaat Door, and played a role in The Passion.
What was once a dream is gradually becoming a reality for Boaz.
