Join this excursion and discover the Mastbos, one of the Netherlands’ oldest production forests.

Information

The River Mark and the Mastbos form a varied habitat for many bird species. Along the Mark, you can find Kingfishers, ducks, geese and Great Crested Grebes, among others. The Mastbos is home to various tits and woodpeckers, including the Black Woodpecker, as well as Hawfinches, Eurasian Nuthatches, Goshawks and Common Buzzards.

In summer, species such as Honey Buzzards, Hobbies and Common Redstarts are present. At the pools, you can see Little Grebes, herons and waders, among others. Sand Martins also breed along the Mark.
