Benjamin Herman Trio in MEZZ

Saxophonist and musical all-rounder Benjamin Herman has been making music for over thirty years and performs all over the world. He plays with his band New Cool Collective, but also as a solo artist. His music ranges from traditional jazz to film music and modern adaptations of Misha Mengelberg. Together with Thomas Pol (bass) and Jimmi Hueting (drums), they deliver a surprising live mix from Benjamin's musical world.

Benjamin is always in search of a distinctive, recognisable saxophone sound. In his new album, he continues this quest and delves into the music that fascinated him as a child. With 'Nostalgia Blitz', he presents an album full of ideas and influences from the alternative saxophone universe of his youth. 

With this album, he challenges himself to improve his playing and pays tribute to his childhood heroes. His heroes Charlie Parker and Ben Webster have strongly influenced his musical taste.
