Saxophonist and musical all-rounder Benjamin Herman has been making music for over thirty years and performs all over the world. He plays with his band New Cool Collective, but also as a solo artist. His music ranges from traditional jazz to film music and modern adaptations of Misha Mengelberg.&nbsp;Together with Thomas Pol (bass) and Jimmi Hueting (drums), they deliver a surprising live mix from Benjamin's musical world. Benjamin is always in search of a distinctive, recognisable saxophone sound. In his new album, he continues this quest and delves into the music that fascinated him as a child. With 'Nostalgia Blitz', he presents an album full of ideas and influences from the alternative saxophone universe of his youth.&nbsp; With this album, he challenges himself to improve his playing and pays tribute to his childhood heroes. His heroes Charlie Parker and Ben Webster have strongly influenced his musical taste.
