Batmobile + Trashbuckets + Tio Gringo in MEZZ
Three bands enter the Grote Zaal of MEZZ Breda for an evening full of roots music. Experience an unforgettable musical journey.
Information
Not two, but three bands take the stage this evening in the Grote Zaal at MEZZ Breda for a delightful dose of roots music!
The band Batmobile was formed in 1983 by Jeroen Haamers, Johnny Zuidhof, and Eric Haamers. Their debut album from 1985 brought them (inter)national recognition. In the years that followed, the band toured intensively across Europe, Japan, and even at the legendary KlubFoot in London.
De Trashbuckets make trashcan country from Brabant. The trio consists of Sjaak T Sloopkogel on violin and banjo, alongside Peter Westerlaken on the resonator guitar and Mees Drinkenburg on the double bass. A country sound mainly influenced by punk, thrash metal, and the Cactus Cowboys. When they perform, it’s mainly a party that makes you thirsty. Hilarity is guaranteed.
Tio Gringo
In 2009, Tio Gringo was formed. They experienced a successful period with performances at, among others, Speedfest, Beaverfest, Muddy Roots Europe, and in countless rock-‘n’-roll cafés and venues. Tio Gringo’s music remains true to its roots—a solid blend of rough country with a punk attitude.
The band’s strength remained intact, even though there have been various line-ups over the past years. Even after singer Mo lost his battle with cancer, the original line-up reunited for a memorial concert and reignited the fire.
Subsequently, they played as a supporting act for Bob Wayne, again with the original members. This marked the official moment when the band decided to revive Tio Gringo.
