Bat-watching excursion from Boswachterij Dorst

Oops, what’s flying there? It’s usually almost dark when you see it for the first time. Bats! For many people, they have something magical about them.

Worldwide, there are more than a thousand species, some very large, some very small. In the Netherlands, we have many fewer species. On this excursion, we will try to spot some species and make their ultrasonic sounds audible.

With a bit of luck, after this evening you’ll be able to identify some species by their behaviour and sounds. You will go into the Boswachterij Dorst with bat expert Jos Marcelissen to search for bats. Along the way, he will share various interesting facts.

Normally, the nocturnal forest is forbidden terrain, but for this excursion, permission has been granted by the forest rangers. Want to join?
